The Big Move to Oklahoma

My first day at the Health Department and everyone was so sweet!

After the first couple days, I noticed my ankles started disappearing...
turns out I have the genetic trait of swelling early in pregnancy. It's been super fun.

After a week of staying in two different Airbnbs that smelled like Marijuana, we closed on our house and finally got to move in. This is our realtor, Jordana and she is the sweetest.

She gave us a little house warming basket that ended up being exactly what we needed when we went over to clean and fix things up before we moved in.

For my work, I got to go to a 2-day breastfeeding conference and I learned so much!
It was perfect timing with this pregnancy.

We have started a tradition of making bread every Sunday to have for the week. We found a bread maker at the thrift store for $12!

Here is a pic of our room, it's not the biggest but it feels like such
an upgrade from our apartment in Oregon.

Quick bump pic

Learning about newborn stomach sizes at work.

We got Travis set up with a little tool area with some old book cases our bishop found for us.

For weeks, Travis was putting together furniture for us. He really enjoys building things but you probably couldn't tell when you watch him do it lol

My desk at work

Our 4th of July treat, we also watched the fireworks from our driveway
since our neighbors are wild and set off huge fireworks.

Posing in the nursery

lil bump is growing

We took some cozy baby announcement pics in
our new home with my tripod and I loved how they turned out.

This one is my favorite, our kitchen is so cute!

Travis knew I really wanted a nice dresser/changing table for the nursery and not some cheap thing on Amazon. He found this changing table on FB marketplace for $40 and fixed it up for me!

It needed a lot of cleaning and sanding

Travis painting it in our garage

He sanded down the legs so they had a natural wood look

Here is the finished piece with some new knobs we found! I LOVE it!

This is Travis with his lab group. He had a lab job for a couple months before his program officially started and he has really enjoyed it. He decided to do his first lab rotation in this same lab and we are thinking he may choose to work in this one for his PhD. The guy at the end is Dr. Lewis and he is super chill and really likes Travis. Everyone else either works in the lab or are grad students like Travis.

Since I work with a bunch of nurses, I talked with them about my swelling and super fast heart rate (I was worried I had preeclampsia) so they took my blood pressure and reassured me that I'm doing fine and found a little stool for me to put my feet up when I'm at my desk.

I work with some of the best people, something I really prayed for and is a blessing.

Travis' first day of school! He was a little nervous but had been doing great
so far and made some good friends.

We celebrated Breastfeeding week at work and I put together this little board. We also put together some goodie bags for WIC participants to come in and grab.

We found this little outfit and it's the first one I've seen in a store and I just had to get. It's also the first one we bought for the little babe.

We got Oklahoma plates!

This is Chloe and Helen, we went and fed the ducks one day during lunch. There is a beautiful park just across the street that has a ton of ducks and turtles. There are turtles everywhere here!

Me and Chloe in the front and then Helen and Renthia in the back. Chloe is the dietician for WIC and Helen and Renthia are nurses for the Health Department. They are all so fun to work with. Helen and Renthia are in their 60s and close to retiring.

We went to a little antique store together.

Bump update: I think I was 29 weeks in this one

We hung up our hook rack we made a few years ago and placed our
"stench" (bench) we made with dad below. I love how it looks!

This is a little sweater Travis had to get for our little girl. It's super fluffy and
I think it is a little weird haha but it was so cute he needed to get it for her.

Finally made it to the temple here! The endowment changed so much again since we have been and we liked the changes, more Christ centered! Also, don't recommend going to the temple in  your third trimester, it was pretty uncomfortable but I'm glad we went.

Travis got some free T-shirts at an event! The three of us in OU merch.

We had a meeting at work and they gave us a cute craft to make during lunch!

I had a little trouble so Helen came over and helped me <3

We tried an ice cream sandwich place here and it was pretty yummy!

30 weeks pregnant and baby is the size of radishes with the leaves so
I had to take a pic when I saw them at the store.

Mariah made me this beautiful bouquet for our baby girl's room <3
There is a little hint about baby's name in this bouquet.

Someone anonymously left this on my desk this past week!
I love working with a bunch of women!

I got my calling as an activity days leader and we
had our first activity this week with the boys. There are some sweet girls.

31 weeks

We had a fun celebration at work for community health worker appreciation week!
I brought Travis' cookies and everyone loved them.

We celebrated our 3rd anniversary a little early this weekend!
We just got a hotel in OKC (20 min from our house).
The breakfast was AMAZING with freshly baked pastries to die for.

We went to an aquarium that honestly didn't live up
to the one in Oregon or Utah we have been to but it was still fun!

Me with a pufferfish

Then we walked around some gardens the next day and saw a bunch of turtles!
This one was doing some yoga on a rock.

Koi fish that really wanted us to feed them.

Happy Anniversary Babe! <3

The stingray were super friendly too!

Another little turtle sunbathing, there were also baby turtles swimming
around but it was hard to get a good picture of them.

Some little outfits we found for super cheap at
"Once upon a Child" (a thrift store for baby clothes/items)

Can't wait to hold her in these clothes <3

The next update will probably have our little girl in it! We are both so excited to have our little babe. We just want her to grow up already so we can show her all the fun things in Oklahoma. She will have such a different view of life here than we both did growing up on the west coast.
